F.W. Webb to buy Bergen Industrial Supply

F.W. Webb Company plans to acquire Bergen Industrial Supply of Elmwood Park, N.J.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bergen was founded in 1965 and distributes industrial pipe, valves and fittings to manufacturing companies across northern and central New Jersey. Founded by James Laporte Sr., the family-run company serves pharmaceutical, chemical processing, food and beverage, pulp and paper, cosmetic/personal care products, textile and utilities industries.

“Our companies enjoy a natural synergy since we serve many of the same industries and carry complementary high-quality lines,” said Laporte, president of Bergen Industrial Supply. “Customers will continue working with their Bergen sales and service teams, but they will now have access to F.W. Webb’s deep resources and expanded offerings.”

“Bergen’s industry experience and strong customer base will help the Webb brand expand into the New Jersey market and help us deliver the best products to our customers,” said Jeff Pope, president of F.W. Webb. “As customers trend toward consolidation of suppliers for efficiency reasons, the combined strength of both companies will allow us to deliver the very best to manufacturing customers and be highly competitive in the region.”

Headquartered in Bedford, Mass., F.W. Webb has 75 locations and is the largest plumbing, heating, cooling and industrial products distributor in the Northeast.
