Hyde makes two acquisitions
Hyde Industrial Blade Solutions (IBS), a division of Hyde Tools Inc., has acquired two manufacturing firms to bolster the company’s offerings in the plastics and tire and rubber marketplaces.
D&S Manufacturing and PDK Design & Grinding, both of Auburn, Mass., will become part of the Hyde Group of companies.
“D&S and PDK’s operations will benefit Hyde customers with expanded manufacturing capabilities and products specifically for the plastics, tire and recycling industries,” said Rob Scoble, president, The Hyde Group. “Conversely, their existing customers will have access to Hyde’s engineering, research and development capabilities, sales force and our already extensive line of blades and knives for these markets.”
D&S Manufacturing has specialized in the manufacturing of high-chrome alloy tool steel granulator and shredder and recycling knives used to break down plastic material for more than 70 years. For over 85 years, PDK Design & Grinding has manufactured tungsten carbide rotor knives and bed knives for pelletizing plastic before being converted to a final product. Both firms also offer grinding services for re-sharpening their respective knives and blades.
According to Hyde, there will be no immediate or outwardly apparent changes for D&S and PDK customers. Sales, service support, ordering and engineering contacts will remain the same at both companies. No purchase terms were disclosed.
