F.W. Webb makes acquisition, celebrates 150 years

The F.W. Webb Company announced the acquisition of State Line Supply in Seabrook, N.H.

State Line Supply is a single-location plumbing supply company, serving residential and commercial contractors since 1977.

“F.W. Webb is pleased with the opportunity to be in the NH seacoast region for the first time and welcomes State Line employees and customers,” said Bob Mucciarone, COO of F.W. Webb. “We look forward to getting established in the community as a valued partner to the area’s contractors.”

Seabrook is the 12th New Hampshire location for F.W. Webb, which also recently opened in Londonderry with the acquisition of the Water Works Supply Corp. The new Seabrook location will be renovated eventually and rebranded F.W. Webb.

F.W. Webb is celebrating its 150th year in business in 2016. The Bedford, Mass.-based company began in Boston as Stults & Co., only a year after the Civil War ended, near what is now known as the Haymarket area near the popular tourist destination, Faneuil Hall.

As one of only two plumbing supply houses in the area in 1866, the F.W. Webb Co. was at the forefront of the burgeoning plumbing industry, which brought indoor plumbing and impelled sewage and waste water system upgrades to the most populous cities in America. From this single Boston location 15 decades ago, sprang a vitally significant industry and the largest, most diversified supplier of its kind in the Northeast.

Today, the F.W. Webb Company has more than 2,000 employees in over 80 locations across nine states
