Bullard Abrasives acquires Marvel Abrasives
Bullard Abrasives, a manufacturer of branded and private label resin bonded cutting and grinding wheels, announced the acquisition of Marvel Abrasive Products.
Chicago-based Marvel Abrasive Products, originally established in 1936 as Bates Abrasive Products, manufactures resin fiber discs and quick-change discs.
“This acquisition will continue to expand the United States manufacturing capabilities of Bullard Abrasives,” said Craig Pickell, president of Bullard. “Marvel is a well respected name in the industry and this move broadens our portfolio of products in the welding, construction, and fabricating industries.”
Marvel recently incorporated the latest in laser-cutting technology and integrated “super-sized“ resin technology into its line of resin fiber discs and launched two new ceramic-based fiber disc forms.

abrasive products for portable power tools.”
Marvel will operate as Marvel Abrasives Products, LLC and will remain headquartered in Chicago. Products will continue to be sold under both the Bullard and Marvel labels.
