Ingersoll Rand sales increase 4 percent

Ingersoll-Rand plc reported first-quarter sales of $3.0 billion increased 4 percent from $2.8 billion in the same period last year.


The company reported net earnings of $117.1 million, or 45 cents per share, compared to $152.4 million, or 58 cents, in the first quarter of 2016.

The Industrial segment, which includes compressed air and gas systems and services, and power tools, had net revenues of $676 million in the quarter, a 1 percent decline from $681 million in the same period last year.
