B&D Technologies opens FL distribution center

B&D Technologies announced the opening of its first distribution center in the state of Florida.

Based in the city of Ocala, the DC will serve customers in middle and central Florida, and house a portion of the almost $7 million of B&D’s total inventory consisting of bearings, power transmission products, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electric motors, and other commonly used industrial products.

B&D has three branches in Florida, in Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Ocala, and two branches in southern Georgia, Valdosta and Thomasville, that cross the border servicing both states. The DC will enhance the existing inventory of all five branches and compliment the service that B&D provides with staff including regional applications engineers.

“Our ever-expanding footprint is testament to our belief of localized inventory and service that is the foundation of our 72-year history serving our customers and local communities,” said Ben Nations, senior vice-president of B&D Technologies.

“This location will help elevate B&D’s competitive advantage in Florida in terms of lead times. This will help allow us to provide better service to our existing customers in Florida and continue to differentiate us from other distributors,” said Dane Shepherd, director of supply chain for B&D Technologies.
