Grainger May sales up 13%
Grainger reported sales results for the month of May increased 13% versus May 2011.
Results for the month included a 5 percentage point contribution from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point decline from foreign exchange. Organic sales on a daily basis increased 9%, including 6 percentage points from volume and 3 percentage points from price.
Sales in the United States increased 8%, while sales in Canada gained 9% (14% in local currency) and sales from the company's other businesses increased 86% (excluding the acquisitions in Europe & Brazil, sales were up 22%).
