Hughes resigns as ISA president/CEO

The Industrial Supply Association (ISA) announced today that Jeffrey Hughes has resigned as ISA's president and CEO, effective immediately.


ISATo assure a smooth transition, incoming board chairman, John Wiborg, president of Stellar Industrial Supply, Tacoma, Washington, will lead the search for the next president and CEO, according to a press release.

Hughes was hired as president and CEO of ISA in October 2014, replacing John Buckley, who died in February 2014. Hughes previously served as CEO of GAMA International, an organization dedicated to supporting the professional development of field leaders in the insurance and financial services industry.

ISA chairman, Craig Vogel of Lenox said, “I am confident in John’s leadership through the transition and believe the process to find our next president and CEO will mark a new chapter of dynamic leadership for ISA.”

“ISA is sharply focused on continuing and growing its role as a leader in the industrial supply industry; helping companies thrive in today’s economy, and advancing the future of the industry,” said Vogel. “We thank Jeff for his valuable service, and for being a strong advocate and champion for the industrial supply industry.”

“It has been an honor to lead this association with such a rich history,” said Hughes. “Working with an outstanding Board of Directors, wonderful membership, a dedicated staff, and the myriad of industry partners.”

Hughes continued, “Thank you to the ISA Board and members for this amazing opportunity and I wish the Industrial Supply Association many great years ahead.”

Vogel said the change in leadership will spark and encourage all ISA stakeholders to step forward with their thoughts and suggestions for improving the association at all levels. He said ISA is welcoming constructive input to make the association as strong as possible.
