Nunez named IBC president
Industrial Supply Plus Inc. (IBC) formally announced the appointment of Ron Nuñez as president of the Hartford-based supply chain management company.
He will also keep the title of chief operating officer. In his dual role, Nuñez will continue to oversee sales, management, daily operations and finances, as well provide the strategic vision and direction for the organization. Nuñez’s top goals include delivering new business opportunities to IBC’s buying group and enhancing technologies to support national accounts.
“Ron has always been a person of high integrity,” said Peter Matysiak, president of Emuge, one of IBC’s preferred suppliers and a member of the buying group for more than a decade. “Ron has a clear vision for where the organization is going, which is what originally enticed me to join IBC. He has built a strong team of smart, talented individuals to help him realize that vision. I couldn’t think of anyone else running the organization.”
Nuñez joined IBC as COO in 2001.
“Ron is a very effective, determined leader and his team respects him highly,” said Niyi Taiwo, principal and president of Strategic Enterprise Technology Inc., a Boston-based management consulting firm. Taiwo is also an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Lean Expert and Master Black Belt. He has worked with Nuñez and IBC for the last eight years, training them in the principles and methodologies of Lean Six Sigma (LSS). “Ron has been the primary champion of LSS at IBC. He understands what it means to IBC in terms of creating cost-saving efficiencies and excellence in contract management and customer support.”
