AD member sales grow by 12%

Affiliated Distributors announced that sales for AD affiliates grew by 12% in the first half of 2012 to $12.8 billion.


“AD independents continue to take market share in each of our industries,” said Bill Weisberg, Affiliated Distributors’ chairman and CEO, in a blog posting on the AD website. “We outpaced general industry growth by an average of three points and by as much as 5 points. We are proud of the value our members bring to their customers, suppliers and communities. It’s clear that the market continues to reward them for it.”

In the first six months of 2012, AD members hired 1,226 new employees and opened 41 new branches.

By segment, AD U.S. Electrical sales grew 11% on a same store basis from $5.6 billion to $6.2 billion; AD Canadian Electrical sales grew 3.3% from $372 million to $385 million;  AD Industrial sales grew 13% from $2.2 billion to $2.4 billion; AD Plumbing & PVF sales grew 13% from $2.8 billion to $3.1 billion; and AD HVAC sales grew 10% from $1.6 billion to $1.8 billion.
