Bostwick-Braun buys Blackstone Supply
Bostwick-Braun Company purchased Blackstone Supply, a paint sundries and hardware distributor with headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island.
The company will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bostwick-Braun Company. The merger will expand the Bostwick-Braun family of companies into Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
Former owners George Hebert and Al Desrochers will continue as president and vice-president of the newly created Blackstone Supply LLC Division of The Bostwick-Braun Company.
“Over the past two years a lot of work was put into this merger. My concern for our customers and employees was a major factor on our decision. I am confident we made the right decision,” said Hebert.
“I am very excited and looking forward at the opportunities for both companies. We are able to combine our strengths helping our customers navigate through this difficult economy. This is a perfect fit for our employees as well. Over the years, both Bostwick and Blackstone employees have worked together as PRO members; so we bring not only new opportunities to our customers but new friends,” said Desrochers.
The PRO Group Inc. is a merchandising and marketing organization of independent hardware retailers.
“The new Blackstone Supply division will continue to operate as it has in the past out of the Providence distribution center.
