Midwest manufacturing output climbs in July

The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) increased 2.2% in July, to a seasonally adjusted level of 81.4.


Three of the four regional industry sectors increased in July. Regional auto sector production rose 7.2%; steel sector output grew 2.2%; machinery sector production went up 0.9%; and resource sector output edged down 0.1%.
