Grainger August sales climb 7%

Grainger reported that sales for the month of August increased 7 percent versus August 2013.


Results included 2 percentage points from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic daily sales increased 6 percent, driven by volume. 

Sales in the United States increased by 8 percent, while sales in Canada increased 1 percent (8 percent in local currency).

Sales to the other businesses segment increased by 20 percent (21 percent in local currency).
