Growth accelerates for ISA members
The September ISA Economic Indicator Report (EIR) from the Industrial Supply Association showed that manufacturers and distributors experienced accelerated growth during August.
The ISA Manufacturer Index increased to 67.2 in August from 56.4 in July, while the ISA Distributor Index rose to 71.2 in August compared to 61.1 in the previous month.
For each index, a reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50% indicates contraction.
“ISA members experienced better than anticipated growth during August,” said Bryon Shafer, general manager of ASG Industrial and chair of ISA’s Strategic Information Committee. “As one distributor member who was surveyed commented, 'Firing on all cylinders right now; looks to continue for a while.'”
