Central McGowan expands automation

Central McGowan Inc. announced the opening of a new 12,000 square foot automation manufacturing facility adjacent to its headquarters in St. Cloud, Minn.

The staff and equipment from the acquisition of Pro-Fect Automation earlier this year has now moved from Little Falls, Minn., to the St. Cloud facility.

Allan Holst has been hired to manage overall operations as director of automation. He has held a wide variety of positions with manufacturers of welding equipment and CNC cutting machines for more than 30 years. Mike Helmbrecht, Corey Jelinski and Willy Novak, previous owners of Pro-Fect, will continue to manage sales, service and manufacturing respectively.

Central McGowan sells and supports robotic welding automation to customers in central Minnesota. The acquisition and new facility significantly expands the company's automation offering to include Fanuc authorized system integrator status, fully engineered specialty hard automation and robotic automation systems.

“We are excited for the opportunity that acquiring Pro-Fect and bringing Allan Holst on board will give to our customers, staff and community,” said Joe Francis, Central McGowan’s chief financial officer. “This new venture will allow Central McGowan to provide our current customers with new capabilities in automation and robotics, and new customers with the wide array of products and services that Central McGowan has provided since 1947. It brings two great companies together to create an integrated solution in the products we provide.”

Family owned since 1947, Central McGowan serves welding, industrial and medical customers across central Minnesota, western Wisconsin and the Dakotas.
