Benchmark Carbide opens new facility
Benchmark Carbide, a manufacturer of solid carbide end mills and reamers, opened a new facility in Springfield, Mass.
The company, a division of Custom Carbide Corp., celebrated its grand opening of a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in early October.
The company also recently expanded its workforce, including hiring Tim Barry as national sales manager. Barry, who previously worked for Lenox Tool for 34 years, said Benchmark is commited to the local community and chose to make the $2.7 million investment in a Springfield location rather than moving to the suburbs.
