WinWholesale to build CT and CO DCs
WinWholesale Inc. announced that it is building regional distribution centers in Middletown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo.
The facilities will replace smaller leased facilities in Denver and North Haven, Conn.
The company, headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, plans to open the distribution centers in 2013. Ground was broken for the Middletown facility Oct. 12 and the Aurora groundbreaking is planned for Oct. 30.
The Middletown facility will be nearly 200,000 square feet and the one in Aurora approximately 242,000 square feet. Each will have office and training space. WinWholesale also operates 200,000 square foot distribution centers in Dayton, Ohio, and Richmond, Va. The Middletown facility will serve WinWholesale locations in the Northeast, while the Aurora facility will serve WinWholesale’s western market.
“Building larger distribution centers in Connecticut and Colorado fits with WinWholesale’s growth strategy by providing space to stock the breadth and depth of existing and new products our locations need to grow their business, and for the organization to expand,” said Rick Schwartz, WinWholesale CEO and chairman.
Total construction cost for the two distribution centers is approximately $31.5 million. The Adkins Group is the general contractor for the Middletown distribution center. A general contractor has not been selected for the Colorado facility.
