Little change to construction, manufacturing jobs in October
Construction jobs grew by 11,000 during October, while manufacturers lost 9,000 jobs during the month.
Mining and logging jobs also fell by 2,000 jobs in October.
Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 161,000 in October, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 4.9 percent, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
