Ohio Transmission acquires PK Controls
Ohio Transmission Corporation announced the acquisition of PK Controls Inc., a Plain City, Ohio-based engineering and services company that specializes in factory automation and controls.
“PK Controls’ team of 74 associates — including 10 engineers, 47 field technicians, as well as shop and installation technicians — significantly enhances Ohio Transmission Corporation’s capabilities across our entire product portfolio,” said Phil Derrow, president and CEO of Ohio Transmission Corporation. “Our customers continue to favor supplier-partners with the resources to help them improve their processes and solve problems rather than merely supplying parts, and PK Controls can handle everything from simple control panel design-build to complex automation and field service solutions.”
Matt Patel, the owner of PK Controls, will stay with the company and lead the team. PK Controls will continue to operate under the same name but as a division of OTP Industrial Solutions, which provides technical sales and service for industrial automation, motion control, fluid power, pumps, spray finishing, sealant and adhesive application, and power transmission systems and products.
With this acquisition, Ohio Transmission Corporation now has 30 locations throughout the South and the Midwest and Northeast regions, along with 14 service shops. The addition of PK Controls’ 74 associates brings Ohio Transmission Corporation’s existing workforce to almost 900 employees.
