ISA EIR expands in February

The monthly Economic Indicator Report (EIR) from the Industrial Supply Association continued its expansionary trend that began in January.

At 62.07%, the February ISA Manufacturers Index remained above 60 for two consecutive months, while the distributor index also remained in positive territory, with a February reading of 52.31%. For each index, a reading above 50% indicates expansion, while a reading below 50% indicates contraction.

“With a reading above 50 for both manufacturers and distributors, the monthly ISA Economic Indicator Report has been above 50 for 11 of the past 12 months,” said John Buckley, ISA executive vice president. “The New Orders Index and the Business Activity Index slowed somewhat during the month, but ISA members remain optimistic, as evidenced by readings above 60 for both the Anticipated Business Conditions and the Anticipated New Orders Indexes.”
