Midwest manufacturing slows

Manufacturing in the Midwest slowed during the month of October, with the machinery sector experiencing the biggest decline.


The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) decreased 1.2% to a seasonally adjusted level of 92.1. Regional machinery production declined 2.5%; resource sector output decreased 1.9%; steel sector output moved down 0.5%; and auto sector production was unchanged.
