BSA introduces inventory sharing system

The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) announced a new Internet-based inventory-sharing solution for manufacturers and their networks of authorized distributors developed and conducted by WarehouseTWO.

Simply stated, inventory-sharing is formal collaboration of a manufacturer and its authorized wholesaler-distributors. Individual piles of inventory are virtually combined, increasing channel efficiency. Demand by one party is fulfilled by available inventory owned by another party. More than dumping dead inventory onto others, or living off others’ inventory investment, WarehouseTWO is true synergy between peer wholesaler-distributors.

BSA 2012 Winter Meeting attendees heard a presentation on the Internet-based inventory-sharing solution created for manufacturers and their networks of authorized distributors and identified two key take-aways: first, WarehouseTWO only allows participation by authorized distributors; second, because WarehouseTWO intentionally protects rather than dilutes the manufacturer’s distribution channel, it strengthens rather than devalues the manufacturer's brand. WarehouseTWO took the next step by establishing a voluntary advisory group to assist it in identifying appropriate “communities.”
