Wagner Spray Tech names McGuirk president

Wagner SprayTech Corporation announced that Greg McGuirk, 47, has been promoted to president of Wagner SprayTech North America.


Greg McGuirkMcGuirk succeeds John Berwick, who has been in the role since August 2010, and will be returning to Australia. Wagner SprayTech North America develops, manufactures and globally markets a wide array of painting and decorating products under the brands of Wagner and Titan.

“In the past four and a half years, John has provided leadership for the U.S. business during a very challenging time, and the U.S. team was able to forge a great turnaround, leaving the business in a much better position for future growth,” said Thorsten Koch, CEO Wagner Group.

McGuirk will assume the role of president for Wagner’s North American Decorative Finishing Division on Feb. 1. He joined the company in 2010 as senior vice president for Professional Sales. In 2013, he assumed the role of senior vice president for Home Finishing Sales, and was then promoted in 2014 to oversee both contractor and consumer sales. Prior to Wagner, McGuirk spent 12 years with Valspar in a number of sales and business management roles, most recently as the general manager of Valspar’s Flooring Division. Earlier in his career, McGuirk served as a product manager, international sales manager and an engineer for Pangborn Corporation. He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
