Continental's newest smart service crimper: PC125i

Continental’s group sector ContiTech launched the PC125i crimper, the company’s newest smart service crimper on the heels of the successful PC160i released in 2024, designed and manufactured in the U.S. to support efficient, precise hose assembly in the field and shop environments.

ContiTech PC125i Crimper The PC125i crimper features ContiTech’s latest CrimpIQ Pro Mode technology, offering over-the-air updates and streamlined crimp specification selection to help users achieve consistent, repeatable results. Its compact design improves portability without compromising performance, making it well suited for distributors and end users requiring flexibility and reliability in demanding applications.

“Launching the PC125i at the NAHAD conference in Indianapolis underscores our strategy of meeting customers where they are and delivering technology that directly supports how they operate every day,” said Jim Hill, vice president of distribution, industrial solutions Americas, ContiTech. “The PC125i is a clear example of how we’re aligning digital innovation, U.S.-based manufacturing, and aftermarket-focused solutions to help our distributors and end users stay competitive, reduce complexity, and create long-term value across the hose lifecycle.”

The new crimper is compatible with ContiTech’s traceability solutions, including its long-lasting CrimpCloud hose labeling technology. These traceability labels help distributors and end users simplify aftersales service, support product authentication, and enable assembly fabricator branding, and leverage QR-code-based digital connectivity for fast identification and quick replacements, enhancing resale opportunities in the aftermarket by providing clear, durable identification throughout the product lifecycle.

“With the PC125i, we’re finally bridging the gap between analog crimping in the service world and our most popular machine,” said Chad Peters, product manager, industrial solutions Americas, ContiTech. “This launch reflects our continued investment in solutions beyond rubber that takes the guesswork out of crimping, while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect from ContiTech.”

The PC125i supports ContiTech’s broader approach to customer-centric solutions by integrating digital capabilities with physical products. The ability to update crimp specs over the air helps ensure the machine remains current, reducing downtime and improving usability over time.

“CrimpIQ, especially with our simple Pro Mode, is a game changer centered around the operator’s daily use,” said Peters. “Three taps to crimp with minimal training required is huge in the assembly world. Our software approach makes it easy to make accurate and reliable assemblies without all the confusion of entering multiple settings. We want the operator to use our crimpers with confidence knowing we’re helping to eliminate errors from human entry.”

The new product aligns with ContiTech’s vision to become the customer’s first choice for material-driven solutions. The company continues to focus on close collaboration with customers and partners, emphasizing mutual value creation through innovation, operational excellence, and long-term support.
