Airgas pledges continued support of Operation Homefront

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, has pledged to continue its support of Operation Homefront.

The non-profit organization provides military families with programs that offer relief, resiliency and recurring support during difficult periods. Since 2008, Airgas has directly donated $1 million in support of Operation Homefront.

In addition, thousands of Airgas associates across the country have been involved in local activities and fundraisers to support the organization, including donation drives, golf and bowling tournaments, 5K walks and raffles.

Airgas has supported veterans and military families throughout the company's history. The company continues to actively recruit employees with military experience, and to incorporate policies and provide tools to support employees currently in the service.

Since 2008, Airgas has hired more than 1,000 veterans and has offered its “Welding 101” training program free to veterans.

Airgas Merchant Gases, a business unit within Airgas, recently signed a Statement of Support with the Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense program, further demonstrating the company's support of the Guard and Reserve and the Airgas employees who serve in both organizations.

"We're proud to support military families - within Airgas and in the communities in which we operate. We hope our continued financial support and employee engagement will help Operation Homefront provide vital aid to military families during stressful times," said Andy Cichocki, Airgas chief operations officer.

Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront, added: “We are thrilled to celebrate a decade of working closely with Airgas and its employees to meet the needs of our military families who are struggling to make ends meet. We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment to care for those who have served all of us, and look forward to many more years of working together to help this very special and deserving group of our fellow Americans have an opportunity to thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.”
