WILTON expands Apprentice Vise Line to include six models
WILTON, a provider of professional-grade workholding solutions, has expanded its Apprentice Vise line to include a six-model assortment, available through a network of industrial distributors, retailers and online dealers.
Designed to deliver WILTON’s legendary durability and performance at an accessible price point, the Apprentice Vise line includes six models to meet a broad range of user needs. Ideal for small shop owners, automotive mechanics, and MRO technicians, the expanded lineup introduces three new additions: a 5-inch vise, a heavy-duty 6-inch model, and a compact 3-inch clamp-on vise, joining the existing assortment of 4-inch and 6-inch models, as well as a versatile 5 ½-inch multi-purpose vise.
Engineered with direct input from end users, the Apprentice Vises (other than the 3-inch clamp-on model) feature WILTON’s fully enclosed bullet design for enhanced durability, consistent clamping force, and long service life. Each unit is built with castings that are up to two times stronger than standard gray cast iron (compared to standard 30K gray cast iron.), reinforcing WILTON’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Key features across the Apprentice Vise line include:
- Precision slide bar for smooth operation (not on 3-inch clamp-on model)
- Secure mechanical locking base with 360° swivel (not on 3-inch clamp-on model)
- Uniform clamping pressure across the jaws
- Replaceable jaws made from hardened steel
- Large integrated anvil work surface
- Dual lockdowns and four-bolt mounting pattern (on select models)
The 3-inch compact model (WL1-112) offers up to 1,800 lbs. of clamp force; the 4-inch model (WL1-107) offers up to 6,000 lbs. of clamp force; the 5-inch model (WL1-108) offers up to 6,600 lbs. of clamp force; the 5.5-inch model (WL1-111) and 6-inch model (WL1-109) offer up to 8,300 lbs. of clamp force; and the heavy-duty 6-inch model (WL1-110) offers up to 9,900 lbs. of clamp force.
