ICP receives major donor pledge

The Industrial Careers Pathway received a commitment of $210,000 over a three-year period from the Harold C. Schott Foundation.

The foundation designated the donation for use by ICP to further its mission of building awareness of industrial distribution as a rewarding career choice.

This gift was made possible through the efforts of the late Milton B. Schott Jr., whose passion for the field of industrial distribution was evident throughout his career. Schott served as a board member of both the PTDA Foundation and the Harold C. Schott Foundation.

“This contribution will help ICP measure the awareness of industrial distribution and develop exciting new strategies to engage our target market of Millennials," said PTDA Foundation president Barbara Ross, director, rotary seals, Garlock Sealing Technologies. "This type of broad-based market research is something we’ve always dreamed of tackling, and now Milt’s passion for the industry will make it possible and be part of his lasting legacy.”

This donation, combined with ongoing contributions from Alliance Partner member companies, will allow ICP to increase its efforts to reach the target market through social media, advertising, and face-to-face contact at local career fairs and events. The PTDA Foundation Board of Trustees is grateful for the support from the Harold C. Schott Foundation and the support of all its donors.

Industrial Careers Pathway is a multifaceted North American workforce initiative supported by an alliance of ASA, ISA Education Foundation, NAHAD and the PTDA Foundation.
