Troy Industrial Solutions buys B&J Electric Motor Repair

Troy Industrial Solutions of Watervliet, N.Y., has acquired B&J Electric Motor Repair of Ansonia, Conn.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

Troy Industrial Solutions, founded in 1862, provides repair, sales and maintenance of electromechanical equipment for industrial manufacturing. Troy also operates an extensive hydraulic repair and rubber fabrication facility.

B&J Electric has been in business for 62 years and focuses on motor repair, sales and field service. The company has eight employees and about $1.7 million in annual sales.

“With this acquisition we can expand our offerings to industrial clients in central Connecticut,” said Jason Smith, president of Troy Industrial Solutions. “We look forward to delivering the same excellent service to our new clients as we have done for over 150 years.”

Troy Industrial currently has 70 employees and serves a range of clients from paper mills, construction and quarries to power plants and heavy manufacturing. The acquisition of B&J is the first for the company and is part of a long-term growth strategy.

“For the past 150 years, Troy has established itself as a leading provider of maintenance, repair and operations services in the Capital Region of New York State,” said Dave Barcomb, Troy’s general manager. “Our geographic expansion into Connecticut will allow us the ability to deliver a broader range of services and capabilities to industrial clients throughout Connecticut and New England.”
