CET acquires Empire Machinery & Supply
C. E. Thurston & Sons Distributing LLC (CET) has acquired the Empire Industrial Products Division from Management Consulting Inc.
CET is changing its trading name effective immediately to Empire Machinery & Supply to better reflect the longstanding history of the company and its region presence over the past century.
“We are extremely excited about the acquisition of Empire because their associates are all top-quality individuals with such a wealth of experience in the application of industrial products and services," said Doug Sims, president of CET. "The combination of our two firms will provide the foundation for us to build the preeminent Virginia-based independent industrial distributor. Empire, which was founded in 1914, has always had a stellar reputation of representing all the top industrial and mill supply product lines in the industry. We look forward to servicing Empire’s customers in the very same manner that Empire has serviced them over the last century.”

Empire Machinery & Supply will be headquartered in Norfolk, Va., and will have five locations with branches in Hampton, Richmond, Roanoke and Lynchburg, Va.
