CRC Industries acquires ChemFree Corp.

CRC Industries has acquired ChemFree Corporation of Norcross, Ga., a subsidiary of Intelligent Systems Corporation.

ChemFree Corporation manufactures the SmartWasher Bio Remediating Parts Washing System, an alternative method for cleaning vehicle and maintenance parts without harming humans or the environment. The SmartWasher system consists of the SmartWasher parts washer, OzzyJuice Degreasing Solutions and OzzyMats, which are microbe impregnated filters. The ChemFree Smartwasher product line is distributed in more than 40 countries and marketed under multiple patents.

The SmartWasher system eliminates or dramatically reduces waste streams, as well as the expense of hazardous waste removal and associated liabilities. Combining the ChemFree product line and CRC’s broad specialty chemical platform will create superior performance and enhanced environmental responsibility, as well as new product growth
opportunities, according to a company press release.

“Our mission is to satisfy the needs of general maintenance, auto repair and do-it-yourself markets for high-quality specialty chemical products. This acquisition creates sustainable competitive advantages and values for our customers worldwide,” said Scott Grey, CEO of CRC Industries.

Tom McNally will continue as vice president and general manager of the ChemFree business. The manufacturing, sales, customer service, distribution and administration offices will remain headquartered in Norcross, Ga., and will report directly to Wayne King, President - CRC Americas Group.

CRC Industries produces specialty chemicals for maintenance, repair and operational professionals and do-it-yourselfers within the automotive, heavy-duty truck, marine, electrical, industrial, hardware and aviation markets.
