3M appoints new Industrial Business Group leader

Michael F. Roman has been appointed executive vice president of 3M’s Industrial Business Group, effective immediately.

He replaces Brad T. Sauer, who retires June 1.

Roman is currently senior vice president, Business Development. “Mike is uniquely qualified to lead 3M’s largest business group,” said Inge Thulin, 3M chairman, president and chief executive officer. “His deep understanding of 3M’s corporate strategy and portfolio, combined with his leadership success in the Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, will contribute greatly to the continued success of the Industrial Business Group.”

Roman is a 25-year 3M veteran whose accomplishments include leading multiple divisions and serving as managing director, 3M Korea.

Jon T. Lindekugel has been appointed senior vice president, Business Development, replacing Roman, effective immediately. Lindekugel is currently vice president and general manager, Health Information Systems, and brings deep experience in 3M’s manufacturing and technical areas, including success in the Health Care Business Group.

“Jon is a proven leader,” said Thulin. “His strategic leadership of the Health Information Systems Division has created exciting growth through market share gain and selective acquisitions, supported by the expansion of a unique and talented workforce in the growing field of healthcare technology.”
