Brady Corporation sales up 2.3 percent

Brady Corporation said its third-quarter sales increased 2.3 percent to $309.6 million compared to the third quarter of fiscal 2013.

Total organic sales increased 2.5 percent.

Net earnings for the quarter from continuing operations were $20.2 million compared to $21.7 million in the same quarter last year.

“We were encouraged by our revenue growth in the third quarter. We believe that our investments to drive organic growth are paying off as organic sales grew 2.5 percent this quarter. Organic sales were up 4.8 percent in Identification Solutions and down 1.9 percent in Workplace Safety this quarter. This 1.9 percent decline in our Workplace Safety business is a much smaller rate of decline compared to previous quarters as we continue to add new customers, increase revenues over the internet and have recently returned our catalog advertising to historical levels,” said Brady’s chief financial officer and Interim president and chief executive officer, Thomas J. Felmer.
