TDC Cutting Tools expands SC site

TDC Cutting Tools Inc. recently announced the expansion of its operations and established its overseas headquarters in Oconee County, S.C.

The expansion will result in an additional 38 new positions. The company will invest $8.2 million in the construction of the new TDC Overseas campus, which includes a 32,000 square foot office building and a 10,000 square foot recycling center. Greenfield Industries, a subsidiary of TDC, recently consolidated its U.S. manufacturing operations and U.S./ Canadian headquarters at the campus.

“Through this expansion, TDC has positioned itself for strong future growth in its overseas markets,” said Jeff Chee, founder and CEO of TDC. “TDC chose Oconee County for its overseas headquarters largely in part due to the proximity to Clemson University and Tri-County Technical College, the good support provided by both county and state governments, regional infrastructure and potential cost advantages.”

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on June 6. Site work will begin in July, and completion of the complex is scheduled for May, 2015.

Greenfield Industries was acquired by TDC Cutting Tools Company in 2009.
