Stellar acquires BC Tool & Carbide

Stellar Industrial Supply announced that it acquired BC Tool & Carbide Inc. of Upland, Calif.


Terms were not disclosed.

We will be able to provide a broader and deeper array of supplies and services to our customers with our combined companies,” said John S. Wiborg, president of Stellar. “BC Tool & Carbide is an excellent company, with a reputation for providing its customers with quality products at the highest service levels. They have experienced and dedicated employees. Stellar and BCT have identical philosophies; we create value for our customer partners. The combination of Stellar and BCT will result in Stellar having a true West Coast presence in the MRO, safety supply, metalworking and abrasives business.”

According to Phil Canipe, president of BC Tool & Carbide, “We feel that this transaction makes a great deal of sense for all concerned or affected by it. We will be working very hard to ensure the transition from two organizations to one is as smooth and seamless as possible. I am confident that this is a very positive direction for our company and will be of great benefit to our customers, employees and suppliers. After the combination is completed, Stellar, headquartered in Tacoma, Wash., will have approximately 125 employees and 11 branches in Oregon, Washington and California.

BC Tool & Carbide provides cutting tools and related products to a broad array of industries throughout southern California.
