Grainger May sales up 6 percent
Grainger reported sales for the month of May increased 6 percent versus May 2013.
Results included 2 percentage points from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a 1 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange.
Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic daily sales increased 5 percent, driven by 6 percentage points from volume, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline from lower sales of seasonal products.
Sales in the United States increased by 8 percent. Sales in Canada fell by 7 percent (1 percent in local currency), and sales to Grainger's other businesses segment were up 18 percent (16 percent in local currency).
