Grainger May sales flat
Grainger reported sales for the month of May were flat versus May 2014.
Results for the month included 1 percentage point from acquisitions and a 3 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales increased 2 percent driven by 3 percentage points from volume, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline in price. May 2015 had 20 selling days, one fewer than May 2014.
Sales in the United States increased by 1 percent, while sales in Canada declined by 11 percent (1% in local currency).
Sales to Grainger's Other Businesses segment increased by 11 percent (26% in local currency).
