Manufactured goods orders up in June
New orders for manufactured goods increased 1.1 percent in June to $503.2 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported today.
This was at the highest level since the series was first published on a NAICS basis in 1992 and followed a 0.6 percent May decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders increased 1.1 percent.
Shipments increased 0.5 percent to $499.8 billion.
New orders for manufactured durable goods increased 1.7 percent to $242.4 billion, revised from the previously published 0.7 percent increase. This followed a 0.9 percent May decrease.
