Grainger said sales fell by 1% in July

Grainger reported sales for the month of July declined 1 percent versus July 2014.


Results for the month included a 4 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange and a 1 percentage point increase from acquisitions. Sales increased 2 percent on an organic basis, excluding foreign exchange and acquisitions, driven by 3 percentage points from volume, partially offset by a 1 percentage point decline in price. 

Sales in the United States increased by 1%, while sales in Canada declined by 19% (4% in local currency). Sales to Grainger's other businesses segment gained 8% (25% in local currencies).
