Grainger sales down 2% in August
Grainger reported sales for the month of August declined 2 percent versus August 2014.
Results for the month included a 3 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange and a 1 percentage point increase from acquisitions. Sales were flat on an organic basis consisting of 1 percentage point from volume offset by a 1 percentage point decline in price.
Sales in the United States were flat, while sales in Canada declined by 22 percent (7 percent in local currency). Sales to Grainger's other businesses segment were up by 6 percent (23 percent in local currencies).
