Jergens acquires George Whalley Co. division
Jergens Industrial Supply (JIS) announced that it has acquired the assets of the Cutting Tool and Industrial Supply Division of The George Whalley Company.
Both companies are based in Cleveland, Ohio. The George Whalley Company also operates a Coolant-Fed Tooling & Systems Division, which is not part of this acquisition. Terms were not disclosed.
In a prepared statement, Jergens said the companies jointly offer 100 years of combined experience and, with this acquisition, JIS becomes the "largest and most technically advanced industrial distributor within 150 miles of Cleveland."
The Cutting Tools and Industrial Supply Division is a regional distributor of cutting tools, machine tools and accessories, abrasives, precision tools, shop and safety products, fasteners, hand and power tools, as well as storage and material handling products.
"By bringing together JIS and the Whalley Company, we will be able to better leverage the knowledge and experiences both companies have to better service our end users," said Matt Schron, Jergens Industrial Supply general manager. He added that the acquisition also gives JIS the opportunity to partner with some of the world's best suppliers, while at the same time improving the customer experience by increasing efficiency.
"Our combined product lines and experience are a perfect fit and will offer all of our customers the resources of two industry leaders," said Whalley Company president George Whalley.
Jergens Industrial Supply, a distributor of metalworking products, is a division of Jergens Inc., a manufacturer of standard tooling components, vises and other workholding equipment.
