Grainger posts 8% November sales gain
Grainger reported sales for the month of November increased 8 percent versus November 2013.
Results for the month included 1 percentage point from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a 2 percentage points decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic daily sales increased 9 percent driven by 7 percentage points of volume growth, a 1 percentage point contribution from sales of Ebola-related safety products and 1 percentage point from increased sales of seasonal products.
Sales in the United States increased by 9 percent, while sales in Canada gained 5 percent (13 percent in local currency). Sales to Graingers Other Businesses segment improved by 15 percent (23 percent in local currency).
