NAW praises House Action on harmful Joint Employer Rule
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), says it strongly supports the House of Representatives recent passage of H.J. Res 98, a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution overturning the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) joint employer rule.
Lauren Williams, associate vice president-government relations at NAW, issued the following statement:
“We applaud the House of Representatives' decisive action in passing a CRA resolution to overturn the NLRB’s misguided joint employer rule. This rule threatens economic recovery and stifles job creation, especially for small businesses. It expands the set of circumstances in which an employer can be considered a joint employer under federal law, creating uncertainty for businesses, and exposing them to frivolous litigation. It's time for the Senate to act decisively and prevent the joint employer rule from gutting the very backbone of our economy: small businesses.”
