NewAge Industries Vardex turns 60
Vardex, NewAge Industries’ steel reinforced, transparent PVC suction hose, was introduced in 1956.
Since then it’s been the protective conduit for millions of gallons of fluids and has transported air and other gases. It’s a heavy-duty product that has been reliably moving fluid from point A to point B for decades.
NewAge’s first product was Nylobrade braid reinforced PVC hose. Vardex was the second and, with its spiral steel wire reinforcement, provided important new benefits: kink and crush resistance and vacuum capabilities. These benefits are still a key reason why customers choose Vardex over other hoses for their fluid transfer needs.
“The design of Vardex has remained constant over the years,” stated Stephen Kuhns, National Sales Manager. “It’s a solid performer that offers users a tough hose they can see into and check fluid flow. You can’t do that with opaque, multi-layered suction hoses.”
Vardex is suitable for applications such as chemical transfer, air supply, floor cleaning equipment, material handling, water feeds and discharge, vacuum lines, and food and beverage supply. The clear hose handles pressure and full vacuum (29.9 in./Hg.), and its steel reinforcing wire allows it stand up to harsh environments and rough treatment without complete collapse.
For 60 years Vardex has offered, and continues to provide,:
- Flexibility with durability
- The chemical resistance of PVC with the strength of steel
- Non-toxic ingredients
- Spiral reinforcement completely contained within the walls of PVC – no I.D. or O.D. contact
- Smooth inner and outer surfaces
- Light weight compared to similarly-sized rubber hose
Vardex is well stocked in sizes from 1/4” to 2” I.D. Fabricated hose assemblies with permanently crimped-on fittings are available, along with a variety of other fittings and clamps in both plastic and metal.
