PIP acquires Boss Glove and Safety

Protective Industrial Products Inc. announced the acquisition of Boss Glove and Safety business from the Boss Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Kewanee, Illinois.

Boss was founded in 1893 in Kewanee. For more than 120 years it has supplied gloves, boots and protective wear to ranchers, industrial and construction workers, as well as hobbyists through strong dealers, retailers, and distributors.

“This is a great acquisition for PIP. Boss is one of the most well-respected brands in the industry; and along with this historic brand, Boss is also the global licensee for the Caterpillar brand in certified safety gloves and PPE,” said Joe Milot, president and CEO of PIP.

Current Boss vice president of industrial sales, Leslie Peterson, stated, “This deal with PIP is a natural fit for us. We’ve known the folks at PIP for a very long time and have never underestimated their ability to provide quality products and expertise to customers that trust them. The synergies between our organizations make this partnership well-positioned to achieve great success.”

PIP also announced its plan to fully integrate the consumer side of Boss’ glove and safety business within PIP’s retail division, West Chester Protective Gear. “We’re thrilled to join forces with PIP and West Chester” said Brian Wise, vice president of Consumer Sales at Boss. “Their vast portfolio of leading retail safety brands complements our product offering very well and sets the stage for us to provide our customers with innovative solutions that support continued success and enable us to grow together.”
