Manufactured goods orders increased in November
New orders for manufactured goods increased 1.6 percent in November to $531.8 billion.
New orders for manufactured durable goods increased 2.6 percent to $268.4 billion. Transportation equipment led the increase, rising 6.5 percent to $82.1 billion. New orders for manufactured nondurable goods increased 0.7 percent to $263.4 billion.
Shipments of manufactured durable goods increased 0.7 percent to $263.6 billion, unchanged from the previously published increase. Shipments of manufactured nondurable goods increased 0.7 percent to $263.4 billion.
Unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods increased 0.7 percent in the month to $1,260.1 billion. This followed a 0.3 percent October increase. Transportation equipment led the increase, increasing by 0.7 percent to $831.3 billion.
Inventories of manufactured durable increased 0.7 percent to $469.9 billion. This followed a 0.7 percent October increase. Machinery led the increase, rising 1.2 percent to $77.4 billion. Inventories of manufactured nondurable goods increased 0.7 percent to $300.2 billion. Chemical products led the increase, rising 1.1 percent to $102.2 billion.
