MSC's Kim Shacklett awarded at ISA conference
During the opening program of the ISA23 conference, the association awarded Kim Shacklett, senior vice president of sales & customer success at MSC Industrial Supply Co., as the winner of the 2023 Women’s Influence Award. The award honors an extraordinary individual from an ISA member company for her impact and commitment to advancing the development and influence of women in the industrial supply channel.
Kim joined the industry more than 30 years ago, making a bold career choice to join a male-dominated industry. Her impact thus far has been incredibly significant. She has revolutionized the industry in countless ways, driven by her passion for the customer and innovative thinking. Kim is a strong role model, thoughtful mentor, and passionate advocate of women at MSC and throughout the industry. She sets an example for those around her to follow, motivating them to pursue their goals with determination and perseverance.
“Kim Shacklett is one of the best leaders I have come across in my entire career,” said MSC President and CEO Erik Gershwind. “While Kim is a respected and impactful leader for all MSC associates, she is a strong and positive role model to many women in our company and industry.”
“She has a great ability to recognize talent and encourage it. Kim mentors female leaders, challenging them to follow her example and take risks, accept assignments outside their comfort zone, and grow into roles that they would not have imagined,” Gershwind continued. “She humbly shares her own personal experiences and challenges to build the confidence of other women while effectively sponsoring and advocating for them.”
ISA’s Women’s Influence Award is an important award for all within the industry. It recognizes the commitment to encouraging diversity within the workplace while supporting and recognizing the strength and value that women bring to our companies and to the industrial supply channel at large.
