Fastenal's April sales up 1.2 percent

Fastenal posted sales of $497.1 million in April, a 1.2 percent gain from $491.5 million in the same month last year.


Daily sales of $22.6 million improved from $22.3 million in April 2020.

Sales declined by 4.3 percent in the United States, but grew by 50.1 percent in Canada/Mexico and by 26.7 percent in the Rest of the World category.

Daily sales to manufacturing customers improved by 30.8 percent, while sales to non-residential construction customers grew by 11.9 percent.

Sales of fastener products improved by 33.3 percent in the month, while safety sales declined by 40.9 percent. Safety product sales had soared by 119.7 percent in April 2020 compared to the previous year, as customers sought respirators, masks and other PPE items during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
