Overdrive Tech Group opens Phoenix headquarters

While other distributors have spent the last several months figuring out the long-term implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on their businesses, Jeff Overby decided to launch a new distribution company.
His newly launched company, Overdrive Tech Group, is a distributor of metalworking and industrial supplies headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
The company will focus on the needs of the manufacturing industry with an emphasis on productivity enhancements and machining technical support.
“We feel Phoenix is a great location for the base of our operations," said Overby, president and founder. "The diversity in manufacturing operations and the logistics capabilities will allow us to develop our model in targeted markets. We look forward to adding jobs throughout our regions including Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin during our phase one implementation.”
Overby began his distribution career 30 years ago in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and has worked for regional and national distributors including MSC Industrial Supply and Airgas.
“Certainly it is an interesting time to start a new venture but I describe it as, ‘While everyone was social distancing, we were strategizing,’” he says.
Overby says the business model will give the customer a buying experience like Amazon but with technical support. “Our website features cost savings documentation posted by end users as well as our sales and supplier teams. We even have a free classifieds section for end users to sell product and equipment they do not need. Our ‘Ask an Expert’ section has been popular also.”
Overdrive Tech Group will offer direct field sales support initially in Arizona, Utah, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
