Reed static grounding device
Static grounding devices provide a path to ground for any static charge.
Because static can build up on plastic pipe, even for water services, there is a possibility of a spark discharge of sufficient energy to cause ignition if the proper air/gas mixture is present. Reed offers a quick connect, magnet attachment for hassle-free grounding. Reed’s PEGRM static grounding device is compatible with many tools for polyethylene (PE) including ratchet shears. Attach the magnet to a conductive path and plunge the device into the ground. Reed’s model includes a 7 foot cable as its working distance. Grounding the job increases operator safety.
