Timken apps to design and analyze belt drives

The Timken Company introduced two new mobile/desktop web applications developed to assist in the design and maintenance of industrial belt drives.

Drive Engineer app from TimkenDrive Engineer puts new drive selection and analysis in the palm of your hand, providing extensive results and comprehensive data for use on v-belt or synchronous drives. Belt, pulley and drive output details and specifications can be filtered, changed, saved and shared with the touch of a finger.

“We developed Drive Engineer to produce the most robust results in an intuitive, easy-to-navigate program,” said Brent Elliott, Timken application engineer and Drive Engineer designer. “Now, as a user-friendly web app, it takes the program to the field and puts it in the hands of the end users who need it most.”

PowerMiser, an energy savings calculator located within Drive Engineer, can also be saved as a separate application. A powerful, but simple app, PowerMiser uses drive parameters and local utility rates to identify estimated annual energy costs, savings and payback that can be realized by upgrading to Carlisle belts by Timken.

Additional resources including a complete product catalog, literature, and documentation can be found inside the apps providing details on products, belt tensioning, case studies and belt selection. The free web apps can be accessed at www.driveengineer.com or powermiser.driveengineer.com.
